Special Weapons

Special Weapons are individually named, rare crossover Armaments, a Martial weapon carrying a magic Crown, a curved polearm built around one, a blade doing double duty as a caster's focus, and similar pieces that don't fit neatly into the standard Weapon Cards (see Basic Rules pg. 4). Every Special Weapon below is tied to one specific Path or Branch, never to a Main Class's Tier. A Tier Ability (Levels 1-3) never has access to a Special Weapon, that character hasn't chosen a Path yet, and a Special Weapon's whole reason for existing is what a Path or Branch's training and flavor make possible. This page is a growing list, not a closed one, GMs and future Modules are expected to add their own.

Acquiring a Special Weapon: None of these are purchasable off a standard price list. Treat each as campaign-relevant loot, a quest reward, or a commission from a specialist Crafter willing to work with a rare material (see Weapon Grade & Materials and Organic Elements, Basic Rules pg. 4), GM's discretion on availability and price.

Special Staves

A Stave-family Staff (Martial, see Stave vs. Staff, Basic Rules pg. 4) doesn't normally carry a Crown, that's a Stave's trait. These are the rare exceptions, a Martial Staff fitted with a working Crown anyway, blurring the line between the two families on purpose.

Aura-Crest Bō

Exclusive to: Fighter - Brawler Path

A Bō carried by a fighter who trained past the point where fists and staff stopped feeling like separate things. A small Crystal Crown sits set into the striking tip, channeling a Brawler's raw grit into their Spell Drawn reach without ever putting down the staff.

Crown-Tip Quarterstaff

Exclusive to: Overseer - Paladin Path

A Quarterstaff banded in consecrated metal, its Crown mounted where the wood meets the band. Paladins who carry one report it hums faintly whenever an ally nearby drops below half Life, well before any spell is cast.

Polearms

Polearms are a weapon family in their own right, a heavy curved pole-blade built for reach and cutting power rather than the blunt work a Staff or hammer does. A Polearm's Crown, where one is fitted, sits in one of two places: the Collar, a metal socket just below the curved blade that also serves as its handguard, or the Pommel, set into the base of the haft as a counterweight for the blade's added weight.

Sovereign Glaive

Exclusive to: Warrior - Warlord Path

A heavy, curved pole-blade, rune-etched down the haft in the same style as a Warlord's other Armaments. Its Crown sits in the Collar, just beneath the blade, feeding battlefield-authority magic straight through the cutting edge.

Crowned Falx-Staff

Exclusive to: Tyrant - Demolisher Path

A crescent-bladed polearm heavy enough that most who swing it need both hands and a running start. Its Crown is set into the Pommel, a decorative counterweight that also happens to detonate on a solid hit.

Special Blades

A blade doing double duty as a caster's focus already has a live precedent in these rules, a Norwitch's dagger, which doubles as its Spell Drawn focus at reduced Crown strength (see Weapon/Hand Proficiency, Basic Rules pg. 3). The two below take that same idea further, blades built to fight at both melee and short range without ever being thrown away.

Dancing Fang

Exclusive to: Strategist - Spellblade Path

A slim blade that leaves the Spellblade's hand mid-strike, hangs suspended a short distance out, and keeps cutting on its own count before returning to the grip, a blade-and-spell hybrid made literal.

Whisper-Edge

Exclusive to: Warlock - Bloodlock Path

A blade kept sharp on its wielder's own vitality rather than a whetstone. It strikes in melee normally, and can also be flung a short distance on a thread of blood-magic, landing a second cut before snapping back to hand.

Zealbrand Legendary

Exclusive to: Overseer - Crusader Path

A holy blade keyed to conviction rather than steel or spell, tempered in a rite that binds its edge to the Crusader's own Piety. A Crusader whose faith wavers finds it no heavier in hand, only quieter, its light dimming until resolve returns. Requires a minimum Piety and Charisma score before it can be drawn (Prerequisites TBA, see Trait Prerequisites, GM Codex).

Special Ranged (Magic)

A Magic-Type bow or crossbow works the same as its Martial counterpart mechanically, but a few carry enough of their own built-in enchantment to be Special Weapons outright rather than just an Enchanted standard bow.

Ley-Strand Bow

Exclusive to: Marksman - Bowman Path

A bow with no physical string, drawing it pulls a taut cord of pure channeled force between the limbs instead. A Bowman who trains with one reports the draw never gets heavier, only louder.

Special TAW

TAW weapons are gated by culture and availability, not training (see Cultural Armaments & Rarity, Appendix). The two below are Special Weapons on top of being TAW, individually named and Path-exclusive rather than just a purchasable TAW Weapon Card.

Entropy Lance

Exclusive to: Warrior - Armorer Path

A polearm-length TAW spear that doesn't cut so much as accelerate time along its point, aging whatever it strikes in an instant. Fits the one Path whose Weapon/Hand Proficiency explicitly leaves room for TAW or Energy on a Nature Drawn weapon (see Weapon/Hand Proficiency, Basic Rules pg. 3).

Resonance Railgun

Exclusive to: Marksman - Gunner Path

A black-powder frame retrofitted with a TAW acceleration coil down the barrel. Every shot rings the coil like a tuning fork on the way out, a Gunner using one is never quiet, but is rarely missed either.

Mythical Weapons

A rarer tier still, above every weapon shown so far, tied to Legendary or Divine Rank rather than Common-through-Heroic (see Rank, Basic Rules pg. 2). Earned only through story, a Higher Power's own hand, a Lore Quest, a moment a campaign will never repeat, never crafted or commissioned. This section is a placeholder, still empty, future Modules will populate it.

Cultural Weapons

Every playable race carries its own traditional Armaments, shaped by homeworld, history, and craft rather than Class or Path (see Background and Cultural Equipment, Basic Rules pg. 2). This section is a placeholder, still empty, future updates will add one signature weapon per race.
