Rusty Iron Plate

Common Armor Card , Ref #ARM001

Overview
A full set of pitted iron plate armor, weathered and dented from travel. Heavy but functional, rusted in places but still sound enough for a LVL 1-5 Box Set. It has protected many warriors and will protect many more, for as long as the wearer can bear its weight.

Effect
Armor Score (Armor Scr.) subtracts directly from incoming damage after Vulnerabilities and Resistances are applied. Excellent condition adds +1 Armor Scr.; Fair (Damaged) subtracts −2 Armor Scr.; Broken halves Armor Scr. Movement penalties from Heavy Grade stack with other penalties from condition, buffs, gear, or abilities. Carry weight toward your 50% encumbrance threshold (see Encumbrance, pg. 5).
Notes
  • Grade is set by the Cuirass (main plate) alone. Lesser-Grade straps, lining, padding, and buckles in the recipe do not change what this armor IS (see Armor Grades & Materials, pg. 4).
  • Armor Scr. is set at Common Rank as 45 + Rank bonuses. Uncommon adds +6, Rare +12, and higher ranks carry bigger bonuses (see Armor Quality, pg. 4).
  • Quality changes Value only. It never changes Armor Scr. or combat stats (see Armor Quality, pg. 4).
  • Condition degrades at the end of an encounter in which the wearer was incapacitated, and only a blacksmith or party Armorer restores it. Broken armor halves Armor Scr., halves movement, and adds 2 lbs. per Rank.
  • Attunement (Heroic rank and above) is required before enhancement; Common rank needs none (see Armor Quality, pg. 4).
  • Rank determined by recipe.
