Active Conditions
Active Conditions represent temporary effects, afflictions, or altered states that impact a character during combat and adventure. These conditions modify a character's abilities, restrictions, or status, and are tracked with a duration represented in turns or rounds. Each condition has specific mechanical effects that persist until the condition is removed or its duration expires.
Common Active Conditions include Poisoned, Blinded, Prone, Frightened, Bleeding, Frozen, Stunned, Silenced, Restrained, Charmed, Burning, and Cursed. Each of these conditions applies unique penalties or effects to combat interactions and character capabilities. Conditions can be applied through enemy abilities, environmental hazards, spells, or other game mechanics.
Characters track the duration of each Active Condition in duration boxes on their character sheet. When a condition's duration reaches zero, the condition is removed and the character returns to normal status. GMs may allow conditions to be cured through special abilities, items, or roleplay, depending on the campaign and the specific condition.
