Pt. 2: Mission Statement & NPCs of Interest

Mission Statement, Full

Goals, values, and purpose, must align with starting Alignment. Doesn't need to be completed, it defines the throughline.

Outsider Influence

NPCs judge a character by how well their actions live up to what's expected of them. Follow through consistently and the world reacts accordingly, praise from allies of the cause, hostility from its opponents, both sides of the coin. Come across as too neutral when a clear stance was expected, and Good-aligned and Evil-aligned NPCs alike may scoff, though it's rarely severe on its own. Drifting too far into either extreme draws sharper judgment. This feeds directly into Stance, see Prestige, pg. 5-6.

Sentimental Value

One item accruing per type at a time (weapon, armor, accessory, symbol). Locks permanently if removed. Gifted items (Adored/Family/Companion) start their primary line at +1. Armor tracks Armor Score (AS) accrual instead of a damage line. Accessories track a single Trait accrual, noted in the Class/AS/Trait Line column.

Pt. 1: Titles & Reputation

Developing Prestige

Prestige measures how the world sees a character, shaped by feats, downfalls, choices, and interactions, affecting how NPCs, creatures, and other players respond. See Prestige, Basic Rules pg. 2.

Titles Earned

Only one Boasted (Hero slot) and one Shamed (always Exposed) Title can be highlighted at a time. Boasted Titles are prestigious honors earned through Heroic deeds. Shamed Titles are assigned by the GM and can dissipate through good deeds, or be replaced by a worse one through continued bad deeds. Boasting or exposing a Title can push alignment, mirror the relevant entries into the Alignment Drift Log, pg. 1.

Pt. 3: Legacy

Legacy Notes

How will this character be remembered? Reaching Legend before retiring turns a legacy into monuments, statues, and songs written in the world itself. Become a legend or die a pauper, the choice is theirs. See Legacy, Basic Rules pg. 2, and Rank & Retirement, pg. 8-9.

Pt. 2: Growth, Retirement & Becoming a Legend

Beginning Age (chosen at creation)
Retirement Age (Beginning Age + 40)
Race Lifespan (Mortal / Immortal)
Current Growth (Eons of Adoria lived)

Growth Log

Growth is purely time-based, one year per Eon of Adoria lived while played, with an escalating wait between each Growth. It feeds Vitality (Life, Mana, Stamina, Endurance) and, separately, Innate Aptitude's yearly progression. See Growth, Basic Rules pg. 2.

Retirement & Becoming a Legend

Retirement removes a character from active play for good, there is no unretiring; a character retires at whatever Rank they've reached, nothing granted retroactively. A character who climbed all the way to Legend retires as one, monuments raised, statues carved, songs written. Immortal characters carry on afterward as living legend NPCs, encounterable but never again playable. Mortal characters pass on and live only in the world's memory, monuments, statues, songs, or stories other characters hear told of them. See Retirement, Basic Rules pg. 2.
