Notable Races Not Playable
Essentia is walked by a great deal more than the playable roster. Notable races that are not playable are peoples, war bodies, or powers that hold ground somewhere in the thirteen planets and are closed to Players. A Character is never built from one. They are written here so a GM knows what is out there, and so a Player recognises what has just come over the ridge.
This is a growing list. GMs and future Modules are expected to add to it.
Legion Forms
A people that marshals for war fields a Legion form, named by placing its Legion title in front of the race. The titles in use are Hell, Uber, Mighty, Elite, Burrowing, and Fiendish, as in Hell Orcus, Elite Ogres, and Burrowing Gnomes.
A Legion title names the war body a people puts in the field, not a separate people. The race underneath it is unchanged, and no Legion form is playable.
The Wars
The Ends War. Dozens of races met on Zailister, technology against magic, across every continent it could reach.
The Purge. Invaders out of Elè Quint and Omnè came for Zailister's four sovereign territories and were driven back. The Purge Forces still hold their alliances, and the prophecy of the crowns runs the age that followed.
Powers and Hosts
The Omnè Astral Cabal Empire. The arm of Omnè that invaded Corpus Caeleste and took the Caelen by the millions. The Caelen fought back, took Cabal vessels off them, and the Cabal has not forgotten it.
The Omnè war ranks. The Overlord commands, the Dark Warlords carry the legions, the Shadow Knights do the quiet work. None is a race. Each is a station an Omnè is raised to.
The Futurem of Undeximus. A technocratic people of the eleventh planet, allied with the Tredeki and at war with the Omnè. Although part Human, the Futurem are a race on their own, they share human blood.
The Tredeki of Tredeki. The people of the thirteenth planet, masters of the mind and the coldest world's technology. Although part Human, the Tredeki are a race on their own, they share human blood.
